Florida executes inmate who k!lled cellmate because he wanted death penalty

A 63-year-old inmate, James Robertson, has been executed in Florida after k!lling his cellmate in a bid to receive the d+ath penalty.

Robertson was executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison on Tuesday, October 13. He was pronounced d+ead about 10 minutes after the three-drug injection was administered.

Ahead of the execution, Florida Department of Corrections spokesperson Jordan Kirkland defended the state’s procedure, saying, “Florida has a sound lethal injection process and protocol.”

Robertson was first imprisoned at the age of 17 in 1980 for burglary and assault. His sentence was later extended following an escape, battery and weapons-related convictions.

Reports said Robertson deliberately k!lled his cellmate because he wanted to be sentenced to d+ath.
