The suspect was reportedly arrested following the incident, while the case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Akure for further investigation.
Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, said the Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, had ordered a thorough and professional investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged killing and ensure that justice is served.
Abayomi also reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state, urging residents to promptly report suspicious activities and provide useful information to security agencies.
