Speaking in a video making the rounds on social media, Odumeje expressed disappointment that residents of the region still have to travel to Abuja or Lagos for visa-related services.
He said, “All the elites in Igboland are busy making noise. It’s so shameful that in 2026, there is no embassy in the South-East. Before anyone can get a visa, he or she must travel to Abuja or Lagos.”
The cleric questioned why influential people in the region had failed to address the situation, describing it as a shameful development.
He further called on Igbo leaders and elites to channel their influence towards solving issues affecting the people rather than engaging in what he described as unnecessary noise.
