Former Big Brother Naija housemate and entrepreneur, Uriel Oputa, has questioned the growing trend of couples taking their private relationship disputes to social media.
Uriel raised the concern in a post shared on her social media page, asking why couples choose to make personal disagreements public.
“When did social media become the family court?” she asked.
The reality star said she hopes to have a partner who understands that not every disagreement needs to be shared publicly.
According to her, couples should resolve their differences privately through honest communication, family intervention or professional counselling where necessary.
She also noted that social media users may quickly take sides, share screenshots, create memes and argue in the comments before moving on to another trending issue.
“Social media doesn’t love you the way you think it does,” Uriel added.
