American rapper and television producer 50 Cent has escalated his public feud with Courtney Kemp, creator of the hit crime drama series Power, by accusing her of having s+xual relationships with cast and crew members.
The rapper made the allegation in an Instagram post on Sunday, October 18, following a disagreement with Kemp over their past collaboration on the Starz series.
The dispute intensified after 50 Cent told Variety that he had no desire to work with Kemp again. Asked whether he had experienced a difficult working relationship with anyone in Hollywood that would make him refuse future collaboration, he said, “I don’t look forward to working with her ever again.”
The disagreement also involved their respective accounts of how Power was developed and sold to Starz. 50 Cent had credited his music and business pitch with helping secure the deal with former Starz executive Chris Albrecht.
Kemp disputed parts of his account, including his description of production spending and his involvement in budget meetings. However, she acknowledged his contribution to the series, saying, “I have never once understated his importance in the genesis of ‘Power.’”
Responding to the Variety interview, 50 Cent took to Instagram and claimed he had initially held back from making personal allegations against Kemp.
“Wow, Variety ask me who I wasn’t looking forward to working with again, so I said, Courtney. I thought I was being nice; I didn’t even mention her sleeping with cast and crew members,” he wrote.
The allegation has not been independently established, and the public dispute follows years of collaboration between the two on the Power franchise.
