‘She has been b£@ting me since childhood’ – Akua Nana Addo’s daughter confronts her after custody ruling

A tense confrontation has emerged between Ghanaian actress and fashion icon Akua Nana Addo and her older daughter, Jesusa, following a court ruling granting the actress custody of their two children amid a family crisis.

Akua and her husband, Harold Duodu Norman, have been in the spotlight following reports of alleged domestic abuse, with videos and photographs showing injuries said to be hers circulating online.

One video also purportedly shows Harold b£@ting their daughter while Akua warns him, alleging that he treats her the same way.

Amid the controversy, a court reportedly granted Akua custody of their two daughters, while her husband was remanded.

A new video shared by Ghanaian media outlet Gossips24 TV appears to show Jesusa resisting as her mother attempts to leave with her.

At the beginning of the footage, a young girl, identified as Jesusa, is heard speaking angrily. Akua is also heard asking someone within the compound, “Have you seen what the guy has done?”

Jesusa then confronts her mother, asking, “What did he do? I'm speaking to you, what did you do?”

A man at the scene subsequently asks Jesusa whether she wants to b£@t her mother.

In response, Jesusa alleges that her mother had been b£@ting her since childhood and questions why she should not be allowed to retaliate.

“She has been b£@ting me ever since I was a kid. So don't I have the right?” she asks.

The man responds that two wrongs cannot make a right, adding that a parent's disciplinary actions do not necessarily mean they hate their child. He also acknowledges that Akua may have handled the situation wrongly.

Akua then tells her daughter that others are allegedly using her as a tool in the dispute.

“They are only weaponising you, using you. I told you whatever is happening between me and your daddy has nothing to do with you,” she says.

Jesusa, however, continues to challenge her mother, alleging that Akua is afraid because she intends to reveal the truth about the situation.

The girl later says she wants to see her father before walking into the street and refusing to leave with her mother.

The footage has drawn attention to the family dispute, with the competing allegations highlighting the tensions surrounding the custody ruling.
