Portugal head coach, Jorge Jesus, has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to retire from international football, admitting that he does not know the reason behind the 41-year-old’s decision.
Ronaldo announced his retirement in a social media video on Friday, bringing his international career with Portugal to an end.
Speaking to reporters, Jesus was asked about the football star’s decision to step away from the national team.
He replied: “I don’t know. You should ask him. What I know for sure is that Cristiano and I worked together for a year.
“It was a happy time, and we won the title with the club we were at.”
Ronaldo won the Saudi Pro League title while Jesus was in charge of Al-Nassr last season.
